Description
An interactive session exploring the basics of indoor plant care to promote mental health + wellness while building a sisterhood community. Featured Guest Facilitator + Business We are excited to have our featured guest Jazmon Stewart lead the RESTORE | Plant + Sip with iThrive workshop! Jazmon is a agriculturist, entrepreneur and the owner of iThrive here in Dayton, Ohio. Her business exists to improve the quality of life of Inner-City Communities, one garden at a time. iThrive started during the Spring of 2020, during the wake of a Pandemic. Bare grocery shelves becoming the norm prioritized the need for self-sustainable food systems. With minority communities most impacted by inequities of food security, Stewart began offering Home Gardening Workshops to her community as a solution to mitigate the effects of living in a food desert. To date, iThrive's team teaches Youth Gardening enrichment classes to Dayton Public Students as well as offering sessions to individuals and groups! Who We Are. We curate high-vibe, socially forward creative experiences through diverse event series that fuse together different art mediums to resonate with our stories, traditions, and lived experiences of / for Black and Brown communities. By creating spaces for Black and Brown creatives to thrive, we acknowledge + embrace all displays of individuality, cultivating higher self practices + strengthening intersections within the community. FemmeDomHood Event Series Information. FemmeDomHood is an intersectional safe and liberated space *exclusively* for Black and Brown women where we celebrate the beautiful nature of what it means to be a woman living in her power, in tune with her highest self + constantly elevating. FemmeDomHood was created to remind women of their divine worth, spiritual being, + sensory relationships with the world around them, while simultaneously celebrating femininity + the blooming creativity that is ever present among us. Embracing the diversity that is present in womanhood ushers authentic analysis of how society + personal experiences have influenced who we become, increasing the capacity to achieve personal freedom through connection, acknowledgement + acceptance. Events in this installment series take the shape of various social high-vibe classes, workshops, reading series, empowerment sessions, wine downs, and more. This is our community. This is FemmeDomHood. This month's offering: RESTORE is all about being intentional about personal health + wellness through plant education and direct connections to nature, while communing with other Black and Brown women. Like plants, we also are complex beings in need of intentional care and effort, and that doesn't look the same for everyone. Getting hands on with this process helps us to be reminded of our individuality and fragility, yet rejoice in our likeness and resilience. We bring life to the people + spaces around us, and this moment of restoration is the perfect way to celebrate that. Accompanied by light appetizers and wine, this holistically stimulating experience will leave you feeling full of love, light, and with some skills that your future self can be proud of. Also, all attendees will leave with their own house plant + garden kit! This event will be happening on Thursday May 26th from 6-8 PM EST at Genuine Work (15 McDonough St. Dayton, Ohio 45402) as the perfect ending to your busy personal or work day.
