Description

Are you struggling to find balance while supporting a loved one with a substance use disorder? Over 21 million Americans and their families are affected by substance use disorders every year. It is difficult for families to know how best to support their loved ones and maintain balance. Join us at Colorado Community Church or on Facebook LIVE as we hear from our featured speaker Kelly Ryan, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She will share the experiences of family members steeped in addiction and her journey in recovery. Kelly understands that loving a person with an addiction can be challenging. She will help us find joy even in the midst of chaos and develop strategies to encourage loved ones. Kelly Ryan has spent her distinguished career working in mental health, substance abuse, special education, and educational consulting placement services helping families, teens, and young adults.  In 2021, Kelly co-authored a memoir with her sister Karen entitled Warrior Sisters: One was a drunk, the other was a junkie. To help each other, they had to save themselves first. It’s a compelling story that describes the insidiousness of addiction, the potential and promises that are fulfilled in recovery, and the power of love. Audience members will receive a free copy of Warrior Sisters and have the opportunity to meet Kelly after her presentation. Enjoy free coffee & bagels while browsing our Resource Fair with our community partners. Space is limited to 60 attendees. We look forward to seeing you there!
