Designed for both first time mothers as well as experienced mothers. Designed for both first time mothers as well as experienced mothers. This class increases a woman's confidence and commitment to breast-feeding her baby. A Certified Lactation Specialist/Registered Nurse provides information about prenatal preparation, positioning and latch-on, the prevention of nipple trauma and ways to prevent breast engorgement. Also provided in the course are resources available regarding our Lactation Educators who will make rounds to assist with breast-feeding during your hospital stay as well as continued support during the first year of your baby's life. A support partner is strongly encouraged to attend with you. Davis Hospital is strongly committed to breast-feeding, that we have decided to offer this class FREE to the community.
