NORTHPORT, NY — Jennifer Baranaskas, a teacher and STEM coordinator in the Northport-East Northport School District, was awarded the Long Island STEM Education Leadership Association (LISTEMELA) Star Award for her work in developing the district's STEM enrichment for all program, the school district announced. The STEM Star award was created to honor teachers who serve as "a beacon of light for our students," as well as demonstrate exemplary commitment to the vision of LISTEMELA, which is equitable student access to high-quality learning experiences.
