NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A New Hyde Park civic group wants the North Hempstead town supervisor term to serve four-year terms, rather than two. The Lakeville Estates Civic Association filed a petition last month with the town board seeking to increase the term length, Newsday reported.
"Every two years, the supervisor has to run," Bill Cutrone, president of the group, told the newspaper. "For one year, you are elected. A year later, you have to start thinking about running again."
