Description
We are an exclusive, high-end breeder of Lamancha Dairy Goats, a fully licensed and regulated dairy in the State of Idaho. Since our inception, we have made significant investments in our facilities and herd stock with the end goal of becoming one of the top lamancha breeders in the Northwest. We are on-track to reach that goal. This is not your typical goat farm. Our facilities rival those found on high-end horse farms, as an example.
We are seeking help beginning June 5th to handle evening milking duties, Sunday through Thursday evenings. Start time is 630PM and ranges from 1.5 to 2 hours in duration each evening. Duties include equipment setup, milking, and equipment/facilities clean up. We are fully automated, no hand milking. There is an opportunity to also learn and manage our monthly milk testing program in additional to the evening milking duties.
Candidates must have livestock experience, be highly motivated, passionate about working with animals, detail oriented, reliable, AND PROMPT. It is critical that goats are milked on a set interval, therefore promptness is a strict requirement.
Candidates must be capable of comfortably lifting 50 pounds in weight. Anyone with prior substance or alcohol abuse need not apply. Non-smokers only. Compensation will be based on experience level.
The ideal candidate is a person who wants to grow a career on our farm with longer term goals of adding herd-management and business management responsibilities. This is an outstanding position to learn what it takes to start and run a successful farm, end-to-end.
