Here are the top five stories today in New Orleans: In a surprising turn of events, the Louisiana Right to Life, a pro-life group, released a statement that saying it opposes the proposed Louisiana House bill that would classify women who received abortions as murderers. The group claims the bill does not align with their values. (WGNO New Orleans) As the tension between the mayor's office and City Council continues to escalate, Mayor Cantrell issued statement about the council's decision to override her veto on if citizens should vote on if the council should be required to confirm high-ranking executive branch appointments. Officers arrived on the scene to find a man at the intersection of Chartres and Governor Nicholls Streets around 2 p. m. suffering from a gunshot wound.
