ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst saw the most new coronavirus cases in a week since January, according to the DuPage County Health Department. As of Sunday, the city had seen 10,094 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up 179 from a week before. That's higher than the previous week's 93. The city hit a weekly record of 599 in January. The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Elmhurst increased by one in the last week, to 96. The mortality rate among those locally with the coronavirus is 1 percent.
