Here are the top three stories in Dacula today: Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a shooting at a Lawrenceville Target store, just 10 minutes away from Dacula, on Saturday. The Gwinnett County Police Department suspects that the shooting was domestic-related. The unidentified male victim was reportedly shot in the arm and is expected to survive the incident. (Fox 5 Atlanta) A baby has died after its father was sent to the Gwinnett County jail. Nova Grace Whatley-Trejo died in a hot car when her father was arrested on a misdemeanor probation violation at the Snellville Police Department. According to the department, Davied Japez McCorry Whatley did not notify the department of the child being in the car at any point on Tuesday when the incident occurred. He is now being charged with second-degree murder. (Police Tribune) Ten Gwinnett County athletes have been recognized by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. The awards are meant to recognize an athlete's excellence on and off the wrestling mat. Dylan Martin, Elias Vermillion, Jaquan Ivy, Luke Henderson, Luke Vasquez, Marcus Lasey, Orville Beckford-Duffus, Ryan Rodgers, Kiernan Sherwood, and Jason Snipes earned awards.
