punk rock cover band anyone?

How’s it going? I miss playing music with people, but I really don’t miss all of the work that goes into being in a “real” band. That’s when the idea hit me: a low-stakes, punk rock cover band. I’m a good guitar player and an okay-ish singer. Looking for a bassist, drummer, second guitar player, and someone who enjoys singing more than I do. Not really worried about turning this into a gigging band (unless it turns out that we’re really awesome), just want to find some cool people to hang out and play some fun music with. I realize that everyone’s idea of punk is different, so here’s some of the bands I’m into: Against Me!, Jeff Rosenstock, Bad Religion, The Menzingers (their earlier stuff mostly), Wet Leg, Idles, Direct Hit!, Gaslight Anthem, Wonder Years, Minor Threat, Fugazi, Jawbreaker, Alkaline Trio, War on Women, Sharptooth, Every Time I Die, The Lawrence Arms, Ramones, Cayetana, The Chisel, Anxious, Romero, and I don’t want to keep listing things because this is not fun for me haha. With all that being said, I’m okay with your idea of punk being different from mine! I’m happy to play the blink 182 song that you love as long as you’re willing to play the Against Me! song that I love. I’m 30 now and spent most of my 20’s actively gigging. What that means is I’ve got good gear and a place to play. If you don’t love your gear, don’t worry about it! I’m enough of a hoarder that I’ve got gear enough for everyone.
