Description

POMONA, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help out and help others. Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need. Volunteer New York! makes it easy to find ways to help — through donations, supporting nonprofits and even volunteering at home. Today's opportunity is Get Fresh! Volunteers to Help Distribute Food. Get Fresh! provides fresh food and produce, courtesy of the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, to Rockland County-based food pantries via a drive-up food distribution service. It allows participating pantries to supply meals to hundreds of food-insecure families in the area. Volunteers will be needed Tuesday, Dec. 15 to lift boxes of food and place them in the food pantry's vehicles. For more information, or to sign up to volunteer, go here. Check out all the volunteer opportunities around the Hudson Valley by visiting the Holiday Volunteering web page.
