I also served And although it's been almost 50 years for me I still wear my army hat as well as my service hat. It's not that we have not moved on, But more of a reminder to ourselves of what we fought for, what we endured, as well as remembering g to honor those we served with and especially the brothers we lost. Some struggle to love on, most have moved on and accomplished much through our lifetime. But will never forget the "participation" as you call it. I heard a song called "airborne ranger infantry", that sums up our "participation" perfectly when she said "the wars not over when the fighting ends.
