Description
Hello, it is a beautiful first day and I hope you have a great week.
I am seeking fellow bibliophiles who share similar interests as I. Asheville is a great place for open-minded and intellectual folk, but I don't get out much these days as I am busy working on my personal growth, and I generally allow my vibe to attract my tribe. However, it is never a bad thing to have people to toss ideas back and forth with and talk about the books we are reading. I don't do social media anymore (to each his own).
Sometimes I find myself in the midst of reading a page and experience a sensation that feels like I want to jump out of my skin because the ideas contained therein are so beautiful and cause me to be super aware of my own mortality (not in the sense of fearing death but rather that I wish I had eternity so that I could have all the time in the world to read and contemplate without daily life getting in the way) and internal clock. Sometimes I get that "ASMR" feeling. It's exciting but meeting like minded people is rare. I am not a literalist and therefore do not consider myself a good fit for religious environments such as churches or synagogues, where people tend to limit themselves to prescribed doctrines and creeds. I fancy wisdom above all (I do not however profess to be wise as I am just a fool who has lived a fool's life and I want nothing more than to alter my course of direction).
Currently I am reading 'The Secret Dowry of Eve: Woman's Role in the Development of Consciousness' by Glynda-Lee Hoffman. I also possess such books as the Qu'ran, 'The Torah: A Mechanical Translation' by Jeff Benner, 'Science and Health' by Mary Baker Eddy, 'The Second Coming of Christ: The Resurrection of the Christ Within You' by Paramhansa Yogananda, 'The Kybalion', and 'Metaphysical Bible Dictionary'. The other day I was gifted with a copy of 'Pirkei Avot', which is made up of excerpts from the Mishnah.
