Jurassic Quest Presents New Drive-Through Format In South Florida

SUNRISE, FL — The dinosaurs of Jurassic Quest Drive Thru are ready and raring to return from extinction and set to invade South Florida in December. This touring, drive-through dinosaur exhibit is the first event held at the BB&T Center, located at 1 Panther Pkwy in Sunrise, since the venue closed its doors in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release from Jurassic Quest. The exhibit runs through Dec. 20 after sold-out weekends in Washington DC, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Detroit, Atlanta and Cincinnati. Tours are available between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. every day but Monday and Tuesday. Jurassic Quest has transformed the outdoor parking area of the BB&T Center into an interactive drive-through experience featuring more than 70 moving and life-like dinosaurs, as well as a 50 foot-long Megalodon, the news release said. Since launching in July, this drive-through experience has seen more than 250,000 cars and 1 million people in attendance. Guests will go on a quest with an online audio tour that will lead them throughout a dinosaur safari, according to the news release. Cost is about $49 per vehicle with eight people or less. Each tour takes about an hour. Jurassic Quest collaborated with paleontologists to ensure each dinosaur was replicated in every detail. Guests will have the chance to drive through realistic scenes depicting how scientists understand dinosaurs looked and moved, the news release said. In addition to the life-like dinosaur exhibits, there will be opportunities to visit with Jurassic Quest's one-of-a-kind baby dinosaurs and their team of dino trainers, as well as the chance to capture the moment with a safari-style photo of your vehicle and family transported back in time via a Jurassic setting complete with a dinosaur backdrop. One photo per family is included in ticket purchase. Jurassic Quest takes extra precautionary measures to provide a clean and safe event during the pandemic, the news release said. Guests are to remain in vehicles and to wear masks in the event they exit the vehicle in allowed areas. Social distancing rules will be requested of all guests and maintained by Jurassic Quest crew. Staff will be sanitizing equipment, dinosaurs, and workstations more frequently and thoroughly throughout the entirety of the event. Employees will apply hand sanitizer and wash their hands regularly throughout each day, in addition to wearing masks. Tickets must be purchased in advance online here.
