MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Department of Health reported 172,398 total cases of the coronavirus in the county on Monday.
The number of cases have been confirmed in 171,224 Florida residents, one resident who is not in Florida, and 1,173 non-residents.
The health department also reported the cumulative number of coronavirus-related deaths is now at 3,334. The total number of hospitalizations are currently at 7,848, with 42 non-residents hospitalized.
According to the data, the median age for positive cases in the county is 42, with 49 percent of cases in male patients and 51 percent of cases in female patients.
Statewide, the health department reported 717,874 coronavirus cases on Wednesday, with 44,775 resident hospitalizations. To date, there have been 14,712 resident deaths and 174 non-resident deaths, according to the data.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools will began a staggered reopening on Monday, school officials voted last week following an emergency school board meeting.
