Judge Eaves next served as an Assistant Attorney General before her appointment to the District Court of Maryland for Harford County becoming the first African American to serve on the District Court. She served on the District Court from 2000-2007 until she was elevated to the Circuit Court for Harford County, again becoming the first African American to serve on the court. She was appointed the Administrative Judge for the Circuit Court in 2015.Throughout her years of service, Judge Eaves has been known for her civility and courteous judicial demeanor towards members of the bar and to the public particularly those appearing in her court room.Judge Eaves maintained her humility and connection to the Black community and always made herself available to community organizations especially those involving youth. She understood that she was a role model for youth especially Black youth and an affirmation of what is possible with hard work and commitment. We thank her for the many fraternity and sorority scholarship events, NAACP banquets, her support of The Black Youth in Action (BYAA) Debutante ball, and the countless other events she has supported in the Black community. We are immensely proud of you and believe that Governor Hogan could not have made a better choice.
