RSVP for May Next Door Dinners-- a spring pasta party! Donations at arrival with a pay-what-you-can system! We are selling out at 50.
Next Door Dinners is a community dinner project! We support Chicago urban farmers and makers with our ingredient selection, while cooking a monthly, delicious dinner to share!
All profits go to Grow Greater Englewood, a 501(c)(3) social enterprise that works in partnership with community stakeholders to develop local food economies and land sovereignty which empower residents to thrive.
When you are deciding how much to donate, please consider your income, wealth, and socioeconomic status.
Here are a few questions to consider:
What was the wealth of the home you grew up in? What is your current income?Do you have full-time work with benefits? Does your race and/or gender lend you more privilege than others? Is it easy for you to access fresh food and green space? When sharing a meal, I think all deserve a place at the table, deserve to be welcomed, make friends, eat something nourishing. For that to happen, some will pay more because they can, and some will pay less because that’s ok. But in the end, we can share the thing that brings us together most: food.
Expected suggested minimum donation is usually around $10 (the cost to cover venue space and ingredients).
What to expect:
BYOB- bring wine and beer to share Music! Make friendsVegetarian menu, will use diary (no subs unless allergies)If you cannot make it PLEASE CANCEL YOUR RSVP!!!!
