Join us for a Yoga, Hike and Brew at Northshore Trail- Lakeside- led by Debbie Simon. Join us for a Hike, Yoga and Brew event led by Debbie Simon. Explore More is here to bring you a fun outdoor community event where we will get in nature and soak up the fresh air with a family friendly hike and some yoga in nature. We want to give you the opportunity to explore new trails and activities while meeting new people and building confidence outdoors. Cost: $30 Hike Length: 3-4 miles/All levels with some rocky spots a a few drops. Event Overview: We will practice a standing yoga warm-up on an even surface for approximately 15 minutes- no mat needed. We'll discuss outdoor and hiking ethics and what to do when we see a mountain biker coming on the trail. We will a hike 3-4 miles loop. You will receive a drink coupon ($5 value) to Epic Gelato and Craft Coffee with your hiking ticket. Epic is about a 3-minute drive from the trail head. Parking: There is plenty of free parking at Lakeside DFW on Lakeside Parkway or in the nearby shops. Do not park in the Tower parking lot or in the surrounding neighborhoods. What you bring: Please bring water and a snack if needed (but be sure to pack any trash out) wear sunscreen, comfortable clothes and tennis or hiking shoes. Trekking poles or a walking stick recommended if you would like assistance with avoiding tripping or assistance climbing hills. Tall socks or long pants are recommended to avoid brushes with poison oak/ivy. Recommended skills for this hike: The ability to listen and follow instructions, walk independently or with light assistance with a single point cane or trek-pole, the ability to look for trip hazards, lift feet 3 inches from the ground, move to the side quickly and the ability to not touch or ingest the flora and fauna. � DOBRA Trail: Yes. This trail is shared with mountain bikers. We will be hiking the opposite direction of the bikers and may have to move quickly towards the side of the trail to allow them the pass. Dogs and kids must be able to follow the guides instructions immediately. Trash Talk: Explore More encourages cleaning up the trail as we go. A grocery sack will be provided. Glove wearing is welcomed. Before your Hike: Hydrate, even in cooler temps. You might also need an electrolyte drink post hike (Gatorade, Propel, Body Armor) so bring one for your car. Bring snacks or plan snacks for after hike if you like- Epic has many refreshing drinks and snacks! Family friendly: Yes! Your kids are welcome and FREE!! However, no strollers and make sure children can handle a 3-mile hike OR be held. Dogs are also welcome but must be on a leash and you must pack out poop. Be sure to have any baby carrying device you need. What you will get from us: You will have a fun experience, be led in an outdoor yoga class and guided hike, meet new people, one drink ticket to Epic Gelato and Craft Coffee. Our goal is to inspire you to get outside and build confidence outdoors so you can continue to Explore More on your own! Weather disclosure: If weather does not allow us to have our event or recent weather has caused the trail to close, we will either relocate, reschedule or refund your ticket price OR you can transfer to another event.
