MIAMI BEACH, FL — A man with a concealed, loaded gun was arrested outside a Miami Beach elementary school Thursday after a crossing guard alerted police about his strange behavior, WSVN reported. Randall Richard was arrested outside St. Patrick Catholic School, reports said. He faces a felony charge of possession of a concealed firearm, as well as a misdemeanor charge of trespassing in a school safety zone. The crossing guard, Leticia Barreto, who has worked outside the school for 17 years, said she noticed that Richard "appeared to be upset or angry." Standing within 500 feet of the school, he was pacing back and forth, she added. She also didn't recognize him. "He wasn't a parent, he was acting weird, saying bad words," she said. The students were about to be released from school, so Barreto flagged down a nearby officer, who noticed the bulge from the gun in his waistband, reports said. When police asked Richard what he was doing near the school, he told them that he was checking out the area because he was considering a move to Miami Beach.
