Description

Author Dave Iverson In Person - Book Reading and Signing Dave Iverson is an Oakland writer, documentary film producer/director, and retired broadcast journalist who had produced and reported more than 20 documentary specials for PBS. He will be at Mrs. Dalloway's to discuss his moving new memoir, Winter Stars: An Elderly Mother, an Aging Son, and Life's Final Journey. The book chronicles Dave's remarkable decade-long caregiving odyssey that began when, at age 59 and having been recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s, he moved in with his 95-year-old mother to care for her. It’s a book Michael J. Fox calls “a modern classic … documenting the uncertain journey into the country of caregiving and the deeply sustaining bonds of familial love.” Due to ongoing COVID concerns and customer safety considerations, we will be limiting the number of attendees at our in-store events. To that end, please note the following and thank you for your understanding. THIS EVENT is free but pre-registration is required. If you would like to attend, no later than 4pm on May 19th. BECAUSE SEATING is limited, please register only if you plan to attend. WE ARE NOT ABLE to accommodate any walk-ins that evening. WE ASK that attendees arrive no later than 6:45pm for the event. PROOF OF up-to-date vaccination and boosting will be required at the door, as will masking for attendees during the event.
