Topgun "Behind the Curtain" Airbase and iMax Movie Event Do you feel the need for SPEED? The original Top Gun made every kid in the 80s want to be a fighter pilot and the sequel promises a bigger encore. Join the Minnesota Council of the Navy League in a one of a kind Top Gun Experience. At Top Gun: Behind the Curtain, you will hear real stories from Veteran Navy Pilots, Active Duty Navy F/A-18 and F35 Fighter pilots, and Top Gun Graduates. Many people are not aware that Top Gun, made famous by Hollywood, is only one of numerous advanced weapons schools in the US Navy and the US Military. You will hear the background of Top Gun and how it compares to the other lesser known but equally potent training programs. In addition, F/A-18 and F35 aircraft will be available for viewing up close. These presentations will prepare you to fully appreciate Top Gun: Maverick in iMax, which is included with your Behind the Curtain ticket. Registration is through May 23, 2022June 1st flight plan:16:30-17:15 Arrive at Air Force Reserve at Fort Snelling. Please arrive as early as possible to allow time to get through security and park. 17:15-18:15 Weapons School Briefings 18:15-19:15 Jet viewing and social hour. Hear sea stories from our veteran and active duty pilots 19:15-19:45 Transit to CMX Odyssey in Burnsville, MN.
