MIDTOWN, MANHATTAN — A woman was hit by a train in a Midtown subway station during Friday morning rush hour, according to police and the MTA. An unidentified woman jumped in front of an M train around 8 a.m. at the West 42nd Street-Bryant Park station, an NYPD spokesperson said. She was rushed to Bellevue Hospital and was expected to survive, police and the FDNY said. Emergency responders shut down power on the tracks — the B, D, F and M run through the station — and rushed the injured person, in unknown condition, to Bellevue Hospital, the FDNY said. The emergency response prompted "major delays" on two subway lines that connect Queens and Brooklyn to Manhattan. The F was rerouted to the E line between Jackson Heights and Washington Square and M train lines, which stopped running between Forest Hills and Delancey Street, the MTA said. "My northbound F was also held due to this," one subway rider said on Twitter. "I hope the person is ok."
