Back to School Music at Bach to Rock The school year is finally upon us! Now is the perfect time to secure your child's spot on our fall calendar for private lessons, group classes, weekly camps, learning pods, and more! This fall we are offering our most extensive and diverse selection of music programs to date. We are dedicated to providing Rockland and Bergen counties with the musical enrichment that isn't offered in school this year. Private Lessons  Our diverse range of private lessons will continue to be offered in both in-person and virtual settings. At Bach to Rock, we transform music and music lessons into a social experience, adding a strong group incentive to playing, learning, and practicing. We have found that maximum progress is achieved through a blend of individual instruction and playing with one’s peers in bands. Join a Band! The special excitement about music training at Bach to Rock comes from students playing together in bands. Our professional band coaches work closely with students and direct and train the bands. At B2R, students are placed in compatible bands according to their age and ability. Bands are usually made up of four to six players and a vocalist (who may also be one of the band’s instrumentalists). Music Learning Pods Our Learning Pods are a great way to start or further your student's musical education. With many schools using virtual learning this fall, our Learning Pods provide in-person learning in a small, manageable environment. Pods are 10-week programs meeting once a week for 50-minutes per session. In addition to our formal Learning Pods, we also offer a customizable "Build Your Own Group" option with discounts available (more on this below) Our ensembles offer a small group of students the ability to play together in a unique setting. Explore instrument-specific arrangements that are designed to enhance the band or orchestral experience.  *No experience necessary* Choose from 15 different programs: *Rock Ensemble (ages 7+) This program explores popular band instruments in a fun and collaborative environment.  *Vocal Ensemble (ages 7+) Concentrates in musical theatre and show choir arrangements.  String Ensemble (ages 9+) Includes but not limited to the violin, viola, cello, double bass.  Brass Ensemble (ages 9+) Includes but not limited to the french horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba. Woodwind Ensemble (ages 9+) Includes but not limited to the Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone. *Contemporary Music (ages 7+) A non-traditional approach to history and appreciation of contemporary music.  *Music Production (ages 10+) Create and produce your own original music using Ableton Live 10.  *DJ Mixing (ages 10+) Learn to mix and scratch in our state of the art DJ Lab.  *Recording Arts (ages 10+) Learn to record, edit, and mix music using Pro Tools in our studio.  *Songwriting (Ages 8+) Learn how to write and structure original music. Develop your ideas into a full song.  *Instrument specific groups include  Guitar 101, Bass 101, Ukulele 101, Drums 101, and Piano 101 (ages 7+) Starting the week of September 14th, and running until the week of November 16th. Groups capped at 4 kids.  Price: $350  Early Childhood Group Classes Rock City (For Ages 3-5) Whether they’re a budding rock-star or an aspiring classical soloist, Rock City is the place to find real music education for your preschooler. Through dynamic musical and movement-based activities, exposure to live instruments, and musically inspired story-time, budding young musicians gradually develop the skills needed to read music, play simple rhythms and develop fine motor control - skills that are essential for future success in playing an instrument. Classes focus on foundational musical concepts such as fast and slow, sound and silence, high and low, and even singing and playing major scales, and with our special take-home activity materials, their musical adventures will last all week long! Kids N' Keys (For ages 5-7) Kids n Keys introduces children to the fundamentals of music and piano playing in a fun group setting. This class offers students a playful environment where they encounter the concepts, symbols, and sounds that form the basis of music literacy. Our curriculum incorporates different types of activities and games that involve listening, movement, singing, and creative music-making. We also firmly believe that young students have the ability to make music on the keyboard even before they can read music notation.
