Description

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Two people died in a plane crash in the Marin Headlands on Friday afternoon, according to the National Park Service. Around 2:15 p.m., an emergency beacon activated for a small aircraft and authorities determined that the plane had crashed on a ridge north of Conzelman Road, park service officials said. The crash site is away from any roads or trails, so the response to the crash is not affecting visitor service in the Marin Headlands, which was obscured by fog Friday afternoon, according to the park service. The names of the two people who died have not yet been released, and the park service, Marin County, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
