Description

Press release from the City of Millbrae: May 4, 2022 May is National Historic Preservation Month, and we want to take this time to spotlight the importance of historically significant buildings and landmarks in the City of Millbrae. In 1985, the Millbrae Historical Society stepped up and saved the manager's house of the former Spring Valley Water Company, the City's then water provider, and had it relocated to the Millbrae Civic Center. Many of you know of this 125-year-old building as the Millbrae Museum, across from the Millbrae Library. Inside the Millbrae Museum are a series of displays depicting the history of our city, the importance of its place along El Camino Real, and some historic landmarks still around today. Numerous photos, artifacts, period furniture, and historical documents are stored within the museum, which stands to ensure the history and spirit of Millbrae is never forgotten. We want to encourage everyone in Millbrae to take some time on a Saturday in the near future to visit the museum and learn about the history of our cherished community. Volunteer docents are available each Saturday from 12 noon to 4 P.M. to give you a tour and answer your questions about Millbrae. This press release was produced by the City of Millbrae.
