PASCO COUNTY, FL — Three people have been hospitalized with serious injuries after a head-on accident involving a wrong-way driver Thursday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 8 p.m. an SUV towing a trailer driven by a 35-year-old Jacksonville man was heading south on northbound Interstate 75 north of Blanton Road.
A 42-year-old man from Starke was heading north on I-75 in a pickup truck when he saw the SUV heading toward him going the wrong way on the highway. He tried swerving but the two vehicles collided.
Both drivers and a 39-year-old woman passenger in the pickup truck were seriously injured. Charges against the driver of the SUV are pending.
