Press release from the City of Glendora: May 3, 2022 GLADSTONE PARK NEW PLAYGROUND RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE Glendora, CA – On Saturday, May 14, 2022 members of Glendora's Community Services Commission, along with City Council Members, Community Services Department Director and staff will celebrate the reopening of Gladstone Park's new playgrounds with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The ceremony begins at 10:00am and the public is welcome. Work was recently completed on both the north and south playgrounds, with the goal to make recreation more accessible. Funding for the project was secured from the State of California through the Proposition 68 Per Capita Grant Program. "The new playground at Gladstone Park is a great addition to our town's slate of outstanding parks," Community Services Commission Chair Mallory Buril said. "The Community Services Commission hopes that these new improvements can provide space where children of all abilities can learn, play and grow together." Each playground was transitioned away from the rubber mulch chips and a new poured in place rubber surface was installed. The playground on the south side of the park was removed and replaced with an inclusively designed structure. Recognizing the importance of play, the Community Services Department hopes this new playground will allow the community to engage in recreational and social opportunities together while considering the potential for differing abilities and limitations of its users.
