Description
Press release from the City of Fargo:
April 29, 2022
Minnesota Native Landscapes, Inc. is planning to conduct controlled burns on the three Veterans Boulevard round-abouts, between 40th and 52nd Ave. S. The burning is scheduled to occur on May 5, so long as favorable weather conditions are present. In the event that the burn needs to be rescheduled due to weather, it will take place early in the week of May 9.
Minnesota Native Landscapes, Inc. is a private company that specializes in native and prairie landscaping, and they will work with The City of Fargo staff to determine when wind, temperature and humidity conditions are acceptable to conduct the burn. Experienced staff across multiple departments will be onsite to ensure a safe and successful burn.
Controlled burns are an inexpensive and ecologically-sound method for developing and maintaining a healthy prairie ecosystem. Burning is an important aspect designed to remove weeds and other non-desirable species, stimulate growth of existing native plants and increase public awareness of management techniques and the benefits of prairie plantings.
