MOUNT VERNON, NY — Lamont Riddenhour was arraigned Monday following his indictment by a Westchester County Grand Jury for setting a house fire on Easter Sunday.
The 43-year-old appeared before Judge Susan Cacace, said Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. Riddenhour is charged with:
Arson in the Second Degree, a class B felonyCriminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a class D felony Bail was continued at $50,000 cash, $300,000 bond or $500,000 partially secured bond. His next court date is Sept. 1.
Prosecutors alleged that at 9 a.m. April 12 Riddenhour set a fire that burned a three-story private home on South Tenth Avenue to the ground because he had a dispute with an occupant of the house. There were no injuries.
Mount Vernon Fire Department worked until late afternoon to extinguish the blaze but could not save the structure.
Deputy District Attorney Timothy Ward of the Superior Court Trial Division is prosecuting the case.
