Description

Piano Organ Accordion seeking working band (Danbury to Stamford rehearsal area). I am a professional (I paid my rent and groceries with my earnings) for years with experience in cover bands and show bands and dinner music. Started with Memphis R&B and Motown in my teens. In my twenties from 1970 to 1980s, I played with show bands, house bands doing covers of EW&F, Jefferson Airplane, Three Dog Night, Carole King, KC & the Sunshine Band, Doobie Bros, The Band, CCR, Grand Funk RR, Disco, lounge music. Arranged for horns, played string parts on an ARP String Ensemble (electric strings). 1981: moved to NYC and played piano bars solo and accompanied a female singer doing standards, Broadway material, lounge/restaurant music. I am retired and spend my days teaching piano and music theory. I am woodshedding on New Orleans r&b, jazz fake book, Pig Robbins country style. I can sing simple baritone harmony and lead vocals on: Roadhouse Blues Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down Desperado Hank Williams songs Since I Fell For You... a few examples. I write and perform my original songs in a blues/country/rock style. My gear: Roland VR-730, JBL eon615, Yamaha DGX-640 I have a professional sensibility during rehearsals and on stage. Pleasing the crowd with music they enjoy listening and dancing to and singing along with always made me happy and paid off. A gig is a performance that pays; anything else is a charity event. I can get along with just about anybody and believe kindness and compassion are two necessary qualities that get me through every day. I am seeking a working band. I can commit to rehearsals once a week and will show up with my parts ready and prepared to work on arrangements. I have weekdays and evenings free and friday, saturday evenings for playing out. Sunday evenings are free, too.
