NEWSFLASH! Under the Trump administration, the nation was shut down. Totally! Perhaps you are only 12, so don't remember so well, so let me bring you up to speed. People were demanded to quarantine in their own homes. You were only allowed to leave for emergencies. Police could and would stop you to determine if you were out on emergency basis. When you did go out, everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) was closed save a few liquor stores, a handful of gas stations and a few supermarkets. Much of Walmart or Meijer was roped off, you were not even allowed to shop for those items. The food was abysmal. The produce appeared to be months old. Forget toilet paper, disinfectants, house cleaning supplies, baking supplies..... No economy could possibly survive such a major attack unscathed. In Berlin 1933, a charismatic leader emerged. The economy was so terrible, there are videos available of the poor using wheelbarrows overflowing with paper currency for fuel. He was elected and yes, he certainly healed the ailing economy. It's amazing how the economy surges when you steel the life estates of an entire group of citizens, enslave those of able body and work them for free till death, kill the rest, and then send all your working age boys and men off to war with neighboring countries.
