Guitar player looking to start or join band

Well...this is a long shot, but here goes: If you are looking for rap, metal, classic rock, punk, "high energy" or same ol' cover band....probably don't waste your time. Nothing wrong with it....I'm looking for something different. So what then? Well...something with a little more meaning and emotion? (NO NOT EMO! lol). Something with breadth and depth. Think Mark Knopfler. Sting. Maybe some David Gilmour. Maybe throw in some Bonamassa. I think you get the idea. What exactly that is....I am not entirely sure yet. It would probably develop as a group. The thing is....I don't WANT to always play full on distortion all the time, or 1-5-8 power chords. Or play the same thing the bass is playing. I wanna use the magic strat and twin reverb sound. Oh...don't get me wrong, not afraid to stomp on it and let 'er rip either. So maybe you have a band something like this and need guitar. Otherwise it would be ground up starter. I'm pretty open for ideas, let me know. Promise I won't waste your time with silliness.
