Taco Thursday Small Business Workshop Series Kick Off!
The Selah Downtown Association (SDA) is partnering with the Yakima Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to assist existing businesses and folks looking to open new businesses in Selah.
On June 9th, at 6 pm, Kirk Duncan, the certified business advisor for the Yakima SBDC, will present a list of topics for upcoming workshops. We will be looking for your feedback on the topics you would like to see covered.
1. Developing a plan for your business
2. What are the Key Performance Indicators for your business?
3. How to increase your revenue by 5% to 10%
4. How to control your costs and add 5% to 10% on your bottom line
5. Discussion of employee engagement
6. Resources to improve your business skills
7. What to look for in an income statement and balance sheet
Kirk will briefly describe each of these areas and the folks in attendance will suggest which topics will be more completely covered in upcoming sessions.
The Small Business Development Center in conjunction with the Yakima County Development Association offers individual and group consulting services that are confidential and at no charge. Kirk has owned his own foodservice and restaurant operations as well as provided consulting services to ski areas and other recreational operations throughout the US and Canada. Recently retired from the City and Borough of Juneau Alaska where he was the director of the community owned ski area, the director of the Public Works department as well as the Parks and Recreation department.
