Description

Acoustic Guitar Spring features two outstanding solo guitar masters, exploring the many musical possibilities of the 6 & 12-string guitar. Peter Janson whose passion for weaving elements of Jazz, European, Celtic, and improvisational music into originals and arrangements have earned him critical acclaim: “the substance of great jazz presented in an original and accessible style. Truly great!” (Jazz keyboardist Steve Hunt), “absolutely one of the best, heartfelt, acoustic players today” (Grammy winning producer, Chuck Ebert), and “a rare 10+” (Spirit of Change Magazine).  Peter has performed throughout North America; notably at Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall, Montreal Jazz Festival, Healdsburg Guitar Festival, Argenta Acoustic Music Series, WUMB Music Festival. His guitar work on “Old Black Roller” by Grant Maloy Smith spent 17 weeks on the Billboard charts, including eleven weeks in the Top 10. Peter’s jazz-laced Beautiful Day album won Best Contemporary Instrumental Album (NAR Music Awards). Tracy Moore brings his 12-string guitar to life with his complex, original compositions and his unique arrangements of traditional pieces.  Appearing to flow effortlessly from his fingers and his guitar, his music is sometimes whimsical, and sometimes deeply emotional.  He catches his audiences at a very personal level. While many guitarists use the 12-strng as a sideline, Tracy gives it a strong identity and voice of its own. "My goal is to make music using the tonal and textural characteristics unique to the 12-string guitar,."  For Tracy, the 12-string acoustic is a way of life, and he's out to expand its parameters. Acoustic Guitar Magazine called his alblum, A Peculiar Point of Balance "one of the cleanest recordings of a 12-string guitar I have ever heard, and the general good feelings and humor generated make you want to see this artist in person." Acoustic Guitar goes on to say, “What works so well on this album... is his use of a variety of rhythms and formats, his light touch and unpretentious spirit and his control over that fierce beast, the 12-string.”
