Description
“Chapo Blan” Premiere White Hat Event Promoting Girl Power for ages 7-12 Chapo Blan is an all-girls white hat event geared to promote excellence, healthy self-esteem, and strong core values in the beautiful young women of our community. This event will include the following workshops: Empowerment, Fitness, and Self-care. Workshops are designed to equip the girls with tools to better identify their greatness and inner strength. The Fort Washington Kids Community Initiative aims to strengthen the partnership between the community and its youngest residents. Founder, resident, and parent in the community, Fran Brown, firmly believes that it is the role of the community as a whole to create environments best suited for children to thrive. This initiative strives to create events and learning opportunities for children in the community. A healthy, unified community can ensure healthy, unified children. ABOUT THE EVENT: Chapo Blan is a one-day event taking place outdoors and staffed by volunteers. Children will receive a gourmet lunch box, and light refreshments will be available to accompanying adults. One parent or guardian must be present for the entirety of the event. Workshops are led by professionals in our community, as seen below: 1. Health and Fitness Instructor with (Business Name) Mocha Lee, will teach the young ladies about meditation, the importance of exercise, and self-care. 2. Conflict resolution facilitator with The Shepherd Tree, Fran Brown, will lead games that teach conflict resolution skills and offer coping mechanisms when facing adversity. 3. DJ Nick, will provide good music and vibes to ensure the young ladies continue rocking in their greatness throughout the day. 4. The girls will get an introduction to journaling and why it’s important to reflect on their thoughts and feelings with daily written reflections. Girls will receive their own journals. 5. Kirsten Ledford, our dance instructor will introduce our young ladies to another culture of dance. We will conclude the evening with a joint activity, guardians and girls will reflect on the day. Pictures of the girls and event will be taken by a photographer throughout the day and used for future promotions on social media. All attendees must agree to the use of their pictures on social media. You will be asked to sign a waiver form at the event. We request the girls wear some form of white clothing whether a white Tee-shirt and jeans or some other form of white articles of dress. The white hats are a gift that will be provided at the venue. Registration This event is free for all registered girls. Donations are requested, but not required. If you are unable to attend the event, we ask that you let the organizer know as soon as possible so that another young lady may have the opportunity to attend in your place.
