OhioHealth Movement Disorders Clinic Intro to PD June 10, 2022 This seminar is an Introduction to Parkinson's Disease for people newly diagnosed or new to the OhioHealth Movement Disorder Clinic. Family and friends are also welcome and encouraged to attend.Seminar schedule 10 – 12:00 pmPD management (30 Minutes) • PD basics: epidemiology/anatomy • Common Misconceptions about PD • Motor vs Non-motor features • Medications/procedures/DBS Role of the Social Worker (20 Minutes) • Support groups, Long-term planning/Gerlach/Dempsey offerings • Balancing work along with the disease, discussion regarding disclosing diagnosis, disability, etc. Intro to Therapy and Q & A (30 Minutes) • PT, OT & speech -benefits, cost, and programs offered in the workplace/adaptations Neuro Wellness Center & Delay the Disease program (30 Minutes) • Wellness Reimagined • Delay the Disease Q and A Session (10 Minutes) Tour of the OhioHealth Neuroscience Wellness Center (Optional) (30 Minutes for those attending in person)
