IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN IN-PERSON MEETING About BRAIN (http://gobrain.org): BRAIN's mission is to help its members and businesses in the Baton Rouge area, by providing a platform to network and share expertise in the areas of Analytics, Business Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence. BRAIN is for both technical and business users - any and all who are interested in business analytics, data visualization, modeling, Artificial Intelligence, traditional business intelligence, and everything in between. You may bring in your BI problems and we'll add it to the queue and discuss as time allows after the presentations are over. AGENDA: 5:30 pm – 6:00 pm: Networking & Pizza 6:00 pm – Until: Introductions followed by presentations & discussions Topic: Data processing and reporting during the COVID19 pandemic (Lee Mendoza, Director - Bureau of Health Informatics @ Louisiana Department of Health) Details: The Office of Public Health devised and implemented processes to analyze and report COVID19 information to guide public health decisions, and to inform community leaders and the public about the status of COVID19 in Louisiana. We'll discuss overcoming the technical and logistic difficulties of standing up a system to handle high volume, high velocity, and high variety data, and the specific techniques used to improve data quality. We'll also discuss some of the tools developed and used to assess health disparities and ensure equitable distribution of COVID19 vaccinations. Bio: Lee Mendoza has worked at the Louisiana Department of Health for over 10 years. He currently is the Director of the Bureau of Health Informatics in LDH's Office of Public Health, and leads a team of 16 individuals who perform a wide range of data analytics, support our electronic health record system, and monitor the opioid epidemic in Louisiana.
