The Art of Keeping a Journal A one-day workshop with Instructor Adrienne Hodge Dougherty Arts Center 1110 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704 Room 8E –Starting and keeping a consistent journal or diary practice. This one-day workshop will include: • Rituals and best practices for staying motivated in your journaling practice • Writing prompts • Strategies for stream-of-consciousness writing, list-making, goal setting, dream journaling, health journaling, confidence-building exercises, and more… *Supply List: • a notebook or journal of your choice • pen(s) of your choice • (optional: laptop or tablet if this is your preferred method of writing/note-taking) *I will discuss some of my preferences and recommendations for pens/journals in class, but whatever you feel most comfortable writing with is best for this workshop. _______________________________ Tuesday, 5/10 10:30 am - 1:30 pm $45 Min: 5 students Max: 12 students ________________________________ Tuesday, 5/24 10:30 am - 1:30 pm $45 Min: 5 students Max: 12 students ___________________________________________________________ Policies & Procedures Minimum Enrollment / Refund Each class needs a minimum number of students to enroll before the class can “make.” If the minimum enrollment has not been met 2 business days before the class begins, the class will be canceled. All students who enrolled in the class will be notified by telephone or email and may transfer to a different class or be issued a refund (see refund procedure). Cancellation / Refunds Program attendance is the responsibility of the participant. Failure to attend a class does not entitle a participant to a transfer, makeup, prorate or refund. Registration fees are refundable in full only if Adrienne has canceled the class. Registrations canceled at least 7 days prior to the first day of class may be issued a refund, minus the $35 non-refundable processing fee. No refunds are issued for registrations that are canceled without 7 days' advance notice of the first class day. Transfers A transfer requires a cancellation and re-registration into another class. All procedures listed for cancellations apply to transfers. Failure to attend a class does not entitle a participant to a transfer, makeup, prorate or refund. Substitutions, including family members, are not permitted. If Adrienne cancels a class due to low enrollment and you wish to transfer to another class you will not have to pay the $35 non-refundable processing fee. COVID Safety Masks are required at all times at all City of Austin facilities, so please wear a mask to all class sessions.
