Description
Increase your credibility and position yourself as an authority in your field through earned media. Bring Your Lunch and Learn New Skills With Your Community! Looking for ways to increase your credibility and position yourself as an authority in your field? Owned and paid media produce great visibility, but earned media allows your existing strengths to be leveraged in service to building organic influence and recognition for thought leadership. In this class, Tyler will cover the basics of the op-ed, including the "subject line elevator pitch" intended to grab the attention of busy editors with crowded inboxes. He will also discuss strategies to frame a story around your organization's mission and accomplishments in order to gain the attention of journalists and editors for reported articles—after all, it is stories that move people to action. The class will culminate in an exercise to practice the art of the op-ed/story pitch.
