Description
Hi. You know who you are. We are a three piece improvisational unit with bizarre psychic abilities which allow us to do a 3-way Vulcan Mind Meld so we can barely tell who is playing what. Which, as you should know from direct experience, is a significantly delightful state to be in. Therefore we prefer to get together once per week, and you must have an opening in your schedule which potentially allows for this. One of us plays a laptop, one plays traditional keyboards (mostly Moog and Rhodes), and one plays a very well-curated electronic drum rig. What we do is fairly difficult to describe (although we have been described as "alternately creepy and hilarious"). To be clear, we are not "jammy" or "jazzy" or "fusion-ey" or "psychedelic" or anything like that. And we absolutely cannot be described as "sound design over a beat". Perhaps a significant influence would be Amon Tobin. Look up the track "Kitchen Sink" from his album Foley Room, for a good example of where we might take it sometimes. And we have been teased by friends as sometimes sounding like Modeski, Martin and Wood "but with strange noises in the background." But the question remains, are these people really our friends? Or do we have to beat them up now? I know, "send me a recording" is what you will ask. I promise something will be ready soon, but not tonight. Maybe you will just feel like dropping by our warehouse some evening for a jam? If not, interested parties might wish to shoot me a note so I will have your contact info when we are ready to send or post something streamable. Yes, a GUITARIST is what we think we are looking for, but who knows? Cello with pedalboard? Vibraphone? One more thing: We are absolutely friendly and polite: we love to work with people of all sexes, races, genders and orientations: we have each been around the block and are simply not phobic. The youngest member of the band is 26, and is gender-fluid. The oldest is in his 60's, is cis to a fault, and it's all okay.
