HOW TO PLAY Equipment The table needs to be at least 8 it long and 2ft wide. It should be at least 27.5 inches high. The balls meed to be 40mm 3-star ping pong balls and there should be at least two of these balls The cups need to be 16 oz with a top width of 3-5/8", a height of 4-5/8", and a base width of 2-1/4" Setup The setup of the Wonder Pong game is quite easy. You arrange your 10 cups in a pyramid-style formation (4,3,2,1) on each side of the table, The Wonder Pong distance is measured by the stretch of the table which is B feet. Once arranged, you fill the cups with 6o2 of water. The starting formation should be a tight triangle formation with rims touching, pointing towards the opposition. The back of the triangle should be in line with the edge of the table and the pointy end of the triangle should be towards the middle of the table. Cups cannot be tilted or leaned on towards the remaining cups, Your Cup Since we fill our cups with water, we require you to have any alcoholic drink to play the game. It may be Beer, Wine, Liquor, Seltzer, Cider, or Champagne, Who Goes First? One player from each team needs to make the first shot by maintaining eye contact. If you make the shot and your opponent does not, you decide whether to go first. If both miss, you both keep going until one hit's and the other one misses. **The cup is NOT removed during this phase of the game, strictly to decide who goes first** Playing the Game Each tear will get two (2) shots for each turn, one shot per team member, subject to any other rules within. - If a shot is made by your opponent, you must drink at least 3oz of your cup. You and your partner will alternate who must drink each time a cup is made. Example. If your opponent makes a shot and you decide to drink next shot your opponent makes your teammate must drink instead. Distractions Distractions are permitted, as per the official ruling of Wonder Pong. However, players cannot cross the plane of play with any part of their body, clothing, or objects, You are also not allowed to interfere with the vision of the opposition team. In the event of player interference prior to the ball making contact with a cup, a one-cup penalty will be imposed for the interference. The thrower who had his or her shot interfered with may choose the cup to be removed. If a player knocks over his or her own cups, those cups are to be counted as though sunk and removed from the table. They are not to be refilled or replaced. If the entire rack is knocked from the table, all the cups are counted as hit, unless this occurred during reformation, in which case the cups are replaced. If cups are knocked over by any non-player, those cups are not counted as sunk, and are to be refilled and replaced in their appropriate positions on the table, If cups drift or are otherwise moved out of formation, you may re rack otherwise they stay as they are, If a player knocks over one of his own cups while trying to swat at the ball that cups is removed from the game, It may be a team’s strategy to bounce and shoot at the same time to confuse the defense, a standard shot may not be swatted or that is goaltending. When goaltending occurs, the shooter is given the ball back to retake the shot. If a player who does not have possession of the ball comes in contact with the ball and as a result that ball enters one of his own cups, such as by unintentionally acting as a backboard, that shat IS counted. Rules Elbows/ Wrists Elbows and wrists should be kept behind the line of the table when shooting. First time you will reshoot regardless miss or make, Afterwards it is considered a missed shot regardless miss or make. Heat & Fire If you shoot and make two cups in a row, you are on heat. However, if you make another one, meaning you have three in three, you are on fire, You get to keep shooting until you miss. T'd Up If you and your teammate both make your shots, you get the ball back and you both keep shooting as long as you BOTH make it otherwise turn is over after the miss, Bounce Shots Players are allowed to make a shot via bounce. If the bounce shot is made, two cups are eliminated, and the defending team chooses which cup can be eliminated. Your opponent may swat the ball after it has bounced so be quick when attempting this shot. Re-Racking -You can request the opposition to re-rack your cups, twice per game. This must be done at the start of your turn, and it may only happen when the remaining cups are less than 6. Six cups form a smaller pyramid. Five cups will form a house (2,2,1). Four cups will form a diamond (1,2,1). Three cups form a triangle (2,1). Two cups may be placed side to side or vertical ore in front of the other. The last cup, if requested, can be pulled back and re-centered. Beer Pong Redemption Once the tear has eliminated the last beer cup of the opposing team, they have not won, yet. The defending team bets a shot at the redemption round, where they have the opportunity to eliminate the remaining cups with each player getting a turn, If they make it, the game is forced into overtime, If they don't, they are forced to drink the contents of the remaining cups, as well. Beer Pong Overtime Once a team has made all its cups and Immediately on the next turn, the opposition also completes their cups, then the game goes into overtime. Overtime consists of both the tears setting up 3 cups in the same triangle format using the same beverage to fill them up. The team who hit the last cup first shoots first in overtime and the same rules apply. Blowing This refers to the opposition team blowing the ball out of the cup before it has settled. Celebrity Shot Anyone you allow may volunteer to take a shot for you, it is a celebrity shot. You can only use one celebrity shot in-one game (regardless of if overtime happens) Island Shot The Island Shot rule is when you have a single cup alone, while all other cups are touching each other. If you call the cup and make the shot, then you get to shoot again, however if you make any other cup other than the one you Ring of Fire If you hit four cups, including the triangle pointers and the one in the middle, without hitting any other, you automatically win the game. This is because if you eliminate these four cups, it forms a ring of fire or a circle and that is considered curtains for your opponent. Death Cup A death cup is when the ball lands in the cup and the opposition pick it up to drink. If the entire contents of the cup are not finished with the first ball inside, it is considered a death cup, if the opponents shoot and make the cup during you lifting the cup and drink from it, you automatically lose the game. Rolling if the ball rolls and hits the rim of different cups and then finally goes inside one of the cups, Every cup it touched must be removed. Explosion When both partners shooting simultaneously sink their ball in the same cup of the opponent, you have an explosion. When this happens, all cups that are touching the cup with both balls will also be removed. On Table Rollbacks On table rollbacks. If after a missed shot the ball rolls or bounces back to the shooter and it is picked up before it hits the floor, then the shooter gets another shot. This also counts if the ball is grabbed in mid-air, not over the table space. However, this additional shot must be shot behind the back or with non-shooting hand Wonder Shot This might be the coolest yet hardest shot to make. You are required to call out which cup you will make and have the opponent cover your eyes and if you make the shot game is over and your team wins!
