Join us every first Friday of the month as we highlight a local artist!
Each month we'll highlight an artist in New Orleans and provide them with space to display and sell their work within our studio.
Our first artist spotlight is Tyla A. Maiden. A New Orleans based Illustrator and Muralist. Born in Louisiana and raised in Virginia. Tyla moved to New Orleans in 2019 after graduation where she continues to pursue a professional art career with a focus on public art. Her murals can be found on the streets of Roanoke, Virginia and the French Quarter of New Orleans featuring a common theme of utilising art as a form of activism. Today, Tyla works with non-profit organizations like People for Public Art and Nola Community fridges to uplift the voices in her own community through public art. Her current work focuses on celebrating the black experience. Her use of bright colors and striking portraits captures her visual interpretation of Black Joy.
