Press release from Hamden Public Library:
May 6, 2022
What parent hasn't been concerned with their child's behavior? Questions about what is normal childhood behavior and what might need professional intervention are prevalent in today's society. Is there something wrong with a child who hits, or do they just need a boxing class? Is your child too old to still be having temper tantrums? In Claire Martin's review of "The Push" in the January 5, 2021 issue of the New York Times Book Review she states, "This sort of hand-wringing, at its most extreme, is at the center of Ashley Audrain's taut, chilling debut novel, 'The Push.'" The author describes her debut novel as a "psychological drama told through the lens of motherhood."
