All Long Island DMV Offices Close Amid Coronavirus Concerns

NEW YORK — By executive order of Governor Andrew Cuomo, all Department of Motor Vehicle offices in New York are closed until further notice. The New York State DMV announced the closure in a tweet Saturday night. During the closure period, all in-office reservations, previously scheduled road tests and vehicle appointments will be canceled. However, all licenses, non-driver IDs, and registrations with an expiration date of March 1, 2020, or later will be extended. Additionally, online transactions, including license renewals, are available on the New York Department of Motor Vehicles website. The NY DMV provides the following categories for transactions that can still be done online without having to go to an office.
