MINEOLA, NY — The Nassau County Legislature will be holding a hearing to question PSEG Long Island on its response to Tropical Storm Isaias, which left hundreds of thousands of Long Islanders without power. PSEG has come under wide criticism not only for the massive outages that hit the area, but for its lack of communication in the aftermath. Customers have had continual problems trying to find out from the utility when their power will be restored. Alternate Deputy Presiding Officer Denise Ford announced the hearing will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. in the Legislative Chamber at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola. The Legislature says that the purpose of the hearing will be to hear from PSEG Long Island's management about how they prepared for the storm, their communication with residents and how to fix the problems so these issues don't arise again with future storms.
