Welcome to The Herrick House, Lahey Health Continuing Care and part of Beth Israel Lahey Health. Our team provides ongoing care to individuals through our assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Our teams of nurses, aides, food service, and environmental service employees work to create an environment that supports the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents and patients, along with their families.
Position Summary: Responsible for preparing the food on the cook's work list in accordance with planned menus and sanitary regulations. Assisting in working the food hot line as needed.
Certificates/Licenses: ServeSafe Certification is a plus.
Food Preparation Responsibilities:
*Assist the chef and food service staff in the preparation of resident meals in accordance with planned menus, established inventories and standard recipes.
*Assists in food preparation for special events and assures the stock level of staple and non-staple food and food service supplies are maintained at adequate levels at all times.
*Performs sanitation of all food preparation work surfaces on a clean as you go basis.
*Follows guidelines as established by Serv-Safe for food preparation
*Wears gloves while preparing ready-to-eat foods
*Must be able to read, understand and prepare any recipe without direction
*Attends and participates in staff meetings
