SAN CLEMENTE, CA — The City of San Clemente is hosting a Memorial Day ceremony Monday, May 30, and residents are invited to join city officials in honoring fallen veterans in the community and across the country.
Residents who attend the event will hear from former San Clemente Mayor Tim Brown and Mayor Gene James. Lance Corporal Keene Sherburne, retired from the 3rd Battalion 5 Marines, will deliver the keynote address.
If you know of a deceased service member who lived in San Clemente that should be celebrated at the observance, please email the city with their name, service title, and any other special notes.
Residents are also invited to bring items of memorabilia of their fallen to show at the event's memorial display area.
The City of San Clemente's Memorial Day ceremony takes place Monday, May 30 from 11 a.m. to noon at the San Clemente Community Center, 100 N. Calle Seville. The event is free and open to the public.
