EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — A Toms River man and a Seaside Heights man are facing charges of robbery, conspiracy and impersonating law enforcement in connection with a September 2020 robbery in East Rutherford, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said Friday.
Anthony Naso, 27, of Seaside Heights, and Nicholas Polimeni, 27, of Toms River, were arrested following an 18-month investigation into the robbery, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Polimeni, a tile worker, was arrested Tuesday and Naso, a financial adviser, was arrested Wednesday in the robbery that happened Sept. 11, 2020, Musella said.
Authorities did not say where the robbery happened beyond that it occurred in East Rutherford, only that the two men had been identified as suspects in the robbery. Patch has requested additional details about the robbery.
Polimeni was arrested at his home, while Naso was arrested in Paramus, Musella said.
Both have been charged with second-degree counts of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and fourth-degree impersonating law enforcement, he said.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigation Squad, the East Rutherford Police Department and Toms River Police Department cooperated in the investigation, authorities said.
