PALM DESERT, CA — A man and woman accused of stealing more than $9,000 worth of merchandise in burglaries at a La Quinta business dating back to last year were arrested Thursday in Palm Desert. Cindy Lynn Bauman, 49, and 37-year-old Vincent Michael Bright — both Palm Desert residents — were arrested when investigators served a warrant in the 73000 block of Olive Court, according to the sheriff's department. The pair were arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft by false pretenses and conspiracy to commit burglary. Sheriff's officials said the warrant stemmed from burglaries at the same unidentified business in the 79000 block of Highway 111 in La Quinta. The thefts occurred between Aug. 17, 2021, and April 3, sheriff's officials said. Both suspects were being held in lieu of $250,000 bail at the John J. Benoit Detention Center.
