The Greater Morristown YMCA is looking for Lifeguards who enjoy the aquatic environment and lifeguarding. We are looking for lifeguards to work 5-15 hours weekly. Multiple shifts are available. Hours include daytime and evening hours. Some weekend hours available. Salary is per hour- based onexperience. Regular Part Time employees, who maintain at least one shift weekly have the benefit of a FREEMembership at the Greater Morristown YMCA. Starting salary is $13.50/hour Responsibilities: • Possess current certifications (see requirements below) and follow emergency procedures when necessary.• Be able to swim with proficiency and endurance; remain calm and efficient in emergencies.• Demonstrate knowledge of water hazards, pool safety, lifesaving techniques, and first aid.• Exhibit the principles and techniques of swimming and lifesaving and appropriate safety precautions and procedures.• Attend skill In-services/meetings on a monthly basis. Qualifications: • American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Training Certification.• Standard First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification.• Automated External Defibrillator Certification.• Ability to swim with proficiency and endurance.• Effective communication skills necessary to inform, guide, motivate and support members.• Knowledge of safe and proper techniques in and around the water.
